Aquaman is a 2018 live action film based on one of  DC comics biggest superhero Aquaman. It is dIrected by James Wan, produced by Peter Safran as well as Rob Cowan and distributed by Warner Bros. It was released on the 21st of December on cinemas and now is available on DVD. Aquaman is a comic character co-created by cartoon artist Paul Norris and comic book editor Mort Weisinger. Aquaman is number 6 under the most gros earning movies so far which means it could easily transcend that.

I would like to make somethings clear before proceeding to read this review, firstly I loved watching this movie regardless of the horrible movies DC released in the past and secondly, if you hate spoilers DO NOT continue reading the rest of this review.

Aquaman(Arthur Curry) is a child born between a human Thomas Curry and Atlantean Atlanna who is actually a Princess of the underwater kingdom called Atlantis. Atlanna while fleeing her kingdom and her parents wishes to marry Orvax she ends up in what is called the surface world and meets Curry whom she falls in love with and decides to stay with her new family until one day her father hunts her down and to keep her family safe she honours his fathers wishes and returns to Atlantis and marries Orvax. She bears another child with him called Orm but when Orvax finds out about Arthur he banishes her to the the Trench. Arthur although knows of his origins reject his atlantean heritage after hearing that his mother was executed for bearing a half-breed. One day he is sought after by Mera who is engaged to Orm because she wants nothing to do with uniting the 7 seas and punishing the surface world for harming the sea. She believes that Arthur is the only one able who can unite the two worlds. She works with Nuidis Valko to bring Arthur into the fold and help him win the following of his people. Mera and Arthur travel all over the world searching for an ancient relic called a trident that is meant to unite the seas before they were separated and Atlantis submerged underwater.

"Aquaman" is a live action movie, which has been animation since its beginning. Movies like these are not always satisfactory so if you are a fan you must transcend the borders of dissapointment. Arthur is played by Jason Momoa and Mera by Amber Heard. They both did their part Justice, of course when I heard that Momoa was playing Aquaman I felt cheated thinking that someone else could have done a better job especially since in the anime the character is supposed to be a blondi. The movie was rushed in the beginning which I understand completely since it is supposed to be an action packed movie but at the same time the directors could have given the audience a more chronological way of following the story. Mera, who plays a very big character in this movie is another example of the quotes "behind every strong man is an even stronger woman". Aquaman may be strong but without Mera he is not the King the Atlantean needs, their time together is what wakes him up, to his dream and to what he is "destined" to do.
Black Manter played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, although a villain I loved how they proceeded to keep him black as he is in the animation series. He is one Aquaman's long time villains and will continue to play a big role in the future of the series. He was more agressive than he usually is however, he played the part quite well and that is most important. Each person brought a little bit of something to the table including the directors and producers.

This film was particularly big especially since DC always plays competitor to Marvel comics and ever since Wonder Woman was released there has been a huge amount of improvement in their special effects which is seen clearly in Aquaman. I hated the costume more the yellow which was ironic since I never complained about it in the anime.

I particularly love this character and the way the plot was put together easpecially how they tried to bring everyone into the story. All the characters were properly represented and for the fact that I did not know the story behind the man but they made sure to bring every piece of the comic book into the scene with the back story so that anyone interested in the movie without knowing it is welcome to watch as well.
