SWITCHED ROLES

The past week I finally managed to log on to facebook and to my surprise there was this picture that was making the rounds. I believe out of the first 10 posts it appeared 3 times and I was disturbed as the caption was the same.

You see to me this picture is an insult because, most men would never make the same sacrifices that they expect from women. Why is it that women are the ones who have to bend over backwards and yet men just want a finished product. men want to be waited for and a patient counterpart but yet they are unable to do the same thing for us women. This might be just an opinion but truth is the world an even society rates us differently and I know most of you think I am being old here but if you actually paid more attention to your mentality which shaped by mostly culture because its what we are fed everyday. You will actually realize that what you think is your idea really isn't. 

This is not feminism do not misunderstand me, this is just something that we all know is quite true because, pictures like these with the roles changed would not go viral. Why is it that women have to accommodate men and yet men will not do the same? We are all human, maybe the dignity is a bit different and the pride but no one is perfect. We make mistakes so that we can learn from them because it is very rare to learn from perfection, it usually makes us cocky by just thinking about it.  Men want to be forgiven when made a mistake, we must also adjust our plans for them.

This reminds me of a situation that I once found myself in, back in high school. My maths was suffering a bit so my teacher approached me and tried to convince me to leave it, her words were that I do not need to become a hot shot because as a teacher when I am married I can move and go wherever he is. I looked at her and thought I should answer her but I was not raised that way so I waited for her to finish so I could leave. I have been called a feminist and many other names but that is not the case. We are the ones who always have to be understanding, considerate and submissive to the male species and not domineering because we will chase them away or some or other nonsense. That picture does not need a shout out because women would do it gladly, it is unfortunate that most men cannot do the same and that society actually expects us to just sit and take all of this disrespect.

I feel sorry for this world as most men are missing out on great relationships because of their perception and ideas that women are supposed to be perfect this and that. To find someone elses's finished work and not your own effort.
