Alessia Cara finally "Here"

 This is one of my favorite artists and I hope you will love her as much as i do. I'm sure that it has been about four months now since I have discovered this beautiful soul and to most of you who don't know who she is this is Alessia Caraccciolo also known by her stage name as Alessia Cara. She is a singer and songwriter from Canada and started her music career by singing acoustic covers on you tube since 2011. She plays the Guitar and her unique style is compared to soulful rnb artists like Norah Jones just to name a few. I love how she portrays herself as an artist as well as the way she speaks about the actual reality of friendships and ourselves. 
I think my biggest shock was finding out that she is only 19 years and yet her music was exactly how I felt and unpredictable. She simple, honest and straight to the point, speaks about success, not treading carefully, doing you, triumphing, parties and love. When she speaks of love its not how great it has been instead of the trials that come with it.  

She signed with Def Jam records last year and on the 13 of November released her debut album KNOW-IT-ALL. She released an extended play (EP) called Four Pink Walls which contained five songs including her debut single "Here" before her album.


This album contains thirteen songs of which her debut single "Here" is one, she speaks about her feelings about parties and how she would rather be with her friends than with people she does not know and is written from her personal experience. There is "Four Pink Walls", "Overdose" which is about a love she does not want back but cannot stay away from. 

There is a song called "Scars to Your Beautiful" that I love as it elaborates on what the world has painted beauty as and one should not change themselves rather the world should have a change of heart. I can relate to her music and its depth as it focuses on what young women go through and we keep on fighting more or less the same demons. 

"River of Tears" is another love song of how we would perceive someone to come save us, when all they do is give us empty promises and leave us heartbroken. We love and it brings us nothing but pain, how even after that i cant help but miss and yet you have watched me drown and fall to my demise. You were once all that I needed but now have served your purpose and you can leave.


I have wanted to do a piece about this amazing young lady because I know she has a lot to offer, there is more coming so keep a look out for her and amazing guitar skills and lyricism. Ive enjoyed this album so far and I know that you will too.

The past week I finally managed to log on to facebook and to my surprise there was this picture that was making the rounds. I believe out of the first 10 posts it appeared 3 times and I was disturbed as the caption was the same. You see to me this picture is an insult because, most men would never make the same sacrifices that they expect from women. The African National Congress (ANC) and Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) have taken campaigning to another level by doing it in stadiums, during soccer matches and the like. this has brought the PSL into a frenzy because it is disruptive to the fans and to the matches themselves.
