HOPE

I bet this time of the night you still up, I bet you tired from a hard long week. I bet you sitting in your chair by the window looking out at the city and I hope sometimes you wonder about me.......

I don't even know what made me think anything with you will be any different, how is it possible that you managed to fool me all this time. I was sure that this was exactly what i wanted, unfortunately i fell in love with the idea of falling in love with you.

I was so comfortable, I guess this is what my mom warned me about.
You get the girl, let the girl love you, get her weak and then you walk away. I should have walked the other way when i saw you, but hey I thought I could handle it now it handled me.
You made it so easy not only loving,caring and considerate but you touched me with your smile and caressed me with your eyes, you read me like a book uncomplicated and without the trimmings.

My happy ever after was about to become a reality when you walked through the door. a friend, brother, a lover and someone to finish the sentences for me. What we had was not love at first sight it was beautiful fragile but beautiful. My being with you was supposed to be just that until I said the big words "I Love You". I should have known what I had done.

I did not have to pretend to be an angel with you or perfect as you saw me through a microscope, you knew that I needed the hard shell to survive, you saw through the sparkling eyes, behind my gorgeously deceiving smile

The past week I finally managed to log on to facebook and to my surprise there was this picture that was making the rounds. I believe out of the first 10 posts it appeared 3 times and I was disturbed as the caption was the same. You see to me this picture is an insult because, most men would never make the same sacrifices that they expect from women. Why is it that women are the ones who have to bend over backwards and yet men just want a finished product. men want to be waited for and a patient counterpart but yet they are unable to do the same thing for us women.
